Finally found out where and who I'll be teaching!

After so much uncertainty, finally found out where I'll be and what level I'll be teaching.... (drumroll please) Elementary level in an area known as Kangnam (Gangnam- in Korea k's and g's are interchangeable). At first I had no idea what type of area it was but after asking around a bit I found out it's quite a ritzy part of town (the "Manhattan of Seoul" as one person put it) so I'm getting kind of excited about it! I guess it's one of the most sought after districts so I seem to have lucked out. Here's a couple pics I found, tons more info too if you just do a google search.

We'll see what the rest of the week brings!

Wow, it does sound like you lucked out. Good on you!
Should be fun teaching little ones english.
Can't wait to see the school and your class room.
Maybe we can do a web visit with you and your class, as soon as their english allows it.

Hi honey! I'm so glad to hear that you got your placement. Sounds like a good one...we'll check it out. I have so many questions...are you meeting nice people (very mom-ish question :) ? How's the food so far? How are your accommodations? Do you know if your apartment will be near your school? How's the jet lag? Thanks so much for keeping all of us posted with the blog! Love you...can't wait to hear more...mom

Benjamin,

What a relief to know you have a great location! They must have known you are the right guy for the best location. So, are you the tallest guy in Seoul? Do they want your autopgraph? Where is the nearest bar? Do you have an address yet? So many questions???

Love you and very proud of you !!!

Hey Ben,
Glad to hear you made it there ok and that you have a great location! Teaching the little kids will be fun too, they usually still like their teacher:)
I asked my coworker about your location and he was so excited he brought in like 5 books on Korea! He said that area was really nice, although it's been 30 years. He also said to look out for the ladies! Apparently Koren women love American men:)
I'm looking forward to hearing about your adventures:)
